WWW Resources

Web resources are integral part of cultural heritage of Slovak Republic. We collect web resources of slovacical character with substantial scientific, historical and cultural value. We also collect Slovak or Slovakia-related content outside the Slovak web space – external websites that contain Slovak or Slovakia related content or the authors who are Slovaks or are otherwise related to Slovakia and its cultural heritage.

We respect copyright and web ethics – the web content is protected by copyright. The harvesting processes are governed by copyright legislation and respect server settings (robots.txt) so that they do not affect sites availability.

One of the features of web content is the fact that it changes over time. The harvesting and archiving of each web site carries time information (time footprint), which is a mandatory field for selection and viewing of the archived version of the site.

WWW Campaigns

Archiving of Slovak domains – the web deposit collection policy defines three types of collections:

full domain harvest – carried out once a year, focused on web sources with the national domain .sk.
thematic harvest – web sites are selected by theme, this harvest runs several times a year.
selective harvest – selection is based on defined inputs, this harvest usually runs typically repeatedly.
